Pratisandhi turns 5!

Pratisandhi Foundation has reached a significant milestone by completing half a decade of operation. As we reflect on the organization’s journey, we cannot help but feel a sense of pride and admiration for the incredible work that we have accomplished. From our humble beginnings in March 2018, Pratisandhi has grown into an organisation that has made a significant impact in promoting gender equality and comprehensive sex education. The organisation’s tireless efforts in addressing the stigma surrounding menstruation, promoting access to healthcare, and awareness of SRHR issues have profoundly impacted the lives of thousands of individuals in the community.

Various On-ground drives

Pratisandhi’s journey has been marked by several significant milestones. In September 2019, Pratisandhi became a registered NGO, which allowed us to expand its reach and impact in the community. In June 2021, the organization was honoured with the prestigious Diana Award for its outstanding contribution to society.

By December 2021, Pratisandhi had impacted over 50,000 individuals through its various programs and initiatives. In February 2022, the organization launched its Train The Trainer program, which equips individuals with the skills and knowledge they need to become advocates for comprehensive sex education.

In September 2022, Pratisandhi had the opportunity to attend the UN for the Transforming Education Summit, where we shared our expertise and insights on comprehensive sexuality education and financing gender transformative education with international leaders and policymakers. In October 2022, Pratisandhi launched the S.A.C.R.E.D Project, which has already impacted over 3000 young children.

Of course, building an organization from the ground up is never easy, and Pratisandhi has faced its share of challenges over the past five years including a global pandemic. But through hard work, perseverance, and the dedication of our team members, the organization has overcome these obstacles and emerged stronger than ever. Pratisandhi has learned some important lessons along the way, including the importance of collaboration and building strong partnerships with like-minded organizations.

Looking to the future, Pratisandhi has ambitious plans to continue its work in promoting gender equality and sexuality education. The organization is committed to expanding its programs and initiatives to reach even more individuals in the community and create positive change on a larger scale. We hope to continue partnering with educational institutions through programs like the Bridging Gaps Program and Train the Trainer, to enhance the quality of sexuality education and life skills imparted at the grassroots level.
