Sex education is the provision of information about bodily development, sex, sexuality, and relationships, along with skill-building to help young people communicate about and make informed decisions regarding sex and their sexual health. It treats sexual development as a normal, natural part of human development. Our module follows the National Guidelines Task Force and has been supported and verified by members of the Delhi Gynaecology Forum.
The module is informed by evidence of what works best to prevent unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections and based on respect for young people’s right to complete and honest information.
Comprehensive Sexual Education Module covers an extremely vast theme. While we try our best to touch upon as many important topics as we can, the module remains limited to basics and fundamentals. The workshop takes place over a period of four sessions:
Session One: Human Development (Reproductive Anatomy, Puberty, Reproductive Process, Body Image, Sexual Orientation, and Gender Identity)
Session Two: Personal Skills(Effective Communication, Decision Making, Age of Consent, Peer Pressure and Sexual Behaviour, Navigating Modern Issues)
Session Three: Sexual Health (Reproductive health, Contraceptives, STDs and Prevention, Healthy Sexual Behaviour)
Session Four: Miscellaneous Themes (Myths, Taboos, Rights, and Laws)
Age Group: 16-18 years
Duration: Each session is approximately 120 Minutes with one break
